The Macallan whisky distillery in Moray, Speyside, “The Malt Whisky Country,” cost £140 million pounds and took three years to build. It opened in May 2018 and has 36 copper stills, 21 washbacks, and 5 grassed-over hillocks covering the new still house and visitor centre with a much-increased whisky production capacity, tours, and storage in 35 new warehouses.
The basic whisky tour price is £15 per person. It lasts 1.5 hours and includes a tasting session, which must be reserved in advance online for your chosen time and date. Please bear in mind that this distillery is located 1.5 hours north west of Aberdeen at Craigellachie, Morayshire.
